We all have bad habits and they can all interfere with us being the best we can be. We often feel comfortable doing the same thing day-after-day, but you might not realize that some of these habits can interfere with you being productive and they can even have a negative effect on your work life.


Bad habit is like a virus, it affects our brain and causes us to be less productive. Bad habits affect our growth and when we persist, it destroys the very foundation of our success in life. Some of them can even destroy our immune system.

Stop Smoking

Smoking has been the cause of many deaths today in our societies, many have lost their life due to excessive smoking. 

What baffles me the most is that the federal ministry of health warns that smokers are liable to die young and the warning is also written on the pack of the cigarette and upon that a person will buy and smoke a pack of cigarettes a day.

Smoking has a lot of negative effects on your health, especially your kidney and aging. Smoking can cause you to look older than your age and can even affect you mentally.


One of my classmates in highschool loved to associate with bad guys in school then. His bad gang will always look for a hidden place to smoke Indian hemp after school must have been dismissed. One day he felt he should start smoking like his friends and reasoned that in that way he will be more like them and people will begin to respect and fear him. He tried kissing the India hemp and as soon as he smoked the Indian hemp it went straight to his brain and affected him mentally up till today he is still running mad.

Smoking has not helped anyone achieve anything great in life, I have never heard that someone achieved greatness through smoking. You might not run mad as a smoker but it will definitely affect your productivity.

If you want to be more productive and live a healthier life, you need to quit smoking.

Stop Watching Pornographic Images And Videos.

Pornographic contents are everywhere on the internet, most especially on social media. The vastness of it on the Internet is so much in such a way that you barely search the web without coming across a pornography. Do you know that pornography can damage your brain function and even cause frequent illness? Pornography can make you feel weak often and cause you to easily forget things that are important in your life. Pornography can make you abhor the opposite sex, I have heard a story of a guy who has nothing to do with women he has never slept with his wife since they married and when I tried to find out why he isn't making out with his own wife and it happens that he needs only watch a porn video to be satisfied and because it has become a habit to him he barely have time for his wife.

Stop Masturbating.

Masturbation is as dangerous as death itself. The ugliest part of it is that it does not just affect you mentally but spiritually also. Masturbation hinders your physical and spiritual growth.

Did you know that whenever you masturbate you're spiritually making out with a demon? This is a secret that most people don't know and it takes divine wisdom and knowledge to know the secret behind masturbation. Masturbation is so dangerous that once it becomes a lifestyle, it can make you remain single for the rest of your life.

Avoid Alcoholic Beverages.

Excessive taking of alcoholic drinks have been the ruin of many people, causing more harm than good. Excessive alcohol is diabetic and you know how dangerous diabetes is. Alcohol makes a man forget himself and do foolish things in public, Alcohol can make you review your most secret to your worst enemy.


A man once went out with his friends to take some bottles of alcohol and when they're done drinking his friends made their way home but he stayed back because his eyes were not clear enough for him to ride home. When he sees that it is getting darker and the owner of the beer parlor is closing for the day he managed to climb his motorcycle and start riding home and as he was ride his motorcycle he failed inside the roadside gutter remained there because he's so drunk within some minutes he feels asleep inside the gutter he would have sleep there if not for the passersby who saw him I went to his rescue and God knows that he will not survive if he eventually slept inside the gutter because the event happens to be on raining season and a heavy rainfall that night flood would have flooded him to an unknown destination.

If you must be productive and have a meaningful life, you have to avoid excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Stop Overeating

Eating more than enough can make you vomit. When you eat too much you likely become lazy, weak, tired and sleepy even at times it will make you feel dizzy all day. Eating too much often can cause you your future because when you often eat too much you become less productive. Whenever you overeat you become weak in such a way that you barely do anything meaningful for the whole day.


Stop eating more than you should.

In my early stage in life I loved eating a lot. You can imagine at age 15 I used to eat 3 plates of rice at a time. The most fun part of it is that after eating I will feel so happy and excited, sometimes I will even want more. hahaha. What I learned from this bad habit of mine is that each time I over eat, I will never work on any goal I set for the day. I will just sit at a corner sleeping or just sit there and be looking around, unable to move my body because I felt so heavy, weak and tired. Even at school, I will be sleeping while the teacher is teaching in the class.

This continued until I'm 23 before I realized how much I have wasted my years. I thank God I was able to break free less. I would have wasted almost my youthful age eating without achieving anything worthwhile.

Stop over eating if you love and cherish your future and purpose in life, if you really want to improve your work life and be more productive.


In Conclusion: When you recognize your bad habits and turn them into good habits, you are well on your way to being more productive and improving more on your work life. You will have more energy and strength to go after your dreams and purpose in life.
